Musicals, comedy, drama ... whatever your desire, it's available at community theaters, colleges and high schools in the next several days.
'KISMET'
The evergreen musical "Kismet" stars Buz Tennent as Hajj the beggar, Shawna Masuda as his daughter and Jay Flores as the Wazir. It's an Arabian fantasy of romance and adventure and features the popular tunes "Stranger in Paradise" and "Baubles, Bangles and Beads."
The Army Community Theatre production is directed by CoCo Wiel.
Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Nov. 19, Nov. 25-26 and Dec. 2-3 at Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter. Tickets are $15 and $20 general, $12 and $15 children. 438-4480.
'THE DUCHESS'
Based on the life of a real 15th-century Italian duchess, this adaptation of John Webster's "The Duchess of Malfi" is a tale of murderous rage, lust and madness. Written by Phillip Bullington, the drama follows a widowed noblewoman who secretly marries a servant, to the dismay of her brothers.
"Duchess" is directed by Paul Cravath. Because of the subject matter, discretion is advised.

'FLAMING IDIOTS'
Two former postal workers open a gourmet health-food restaurant but are overwhelmed with a problematic staff, lousy business and a wacky idea to create some notoriety.
Scott Rogers directs the farce by Tom Rooney.
The show premieres at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, repeating at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays, through Dec. 4 (no show on Thanksgiving, but makeup performance Nov. 22), at Manoa Valley Theatre. 'BATTLE OF WILL'
Extremely dark humor imbues the story of a power struggle between the Boss of a crime organization and a Killer whose family was murdered by the Boss.
This production is directed by University of Hawai'i faculty member Markus Wessendorf.

'NO EXIT'
Jean-Paul Sartre's existential classic about three people trapped in what seems to be an ordinary room is enhanced with masks and puppets in this University of Hawai'i-Manoa production.
"No Exit" is directed by UHM graduate student Kris Fitzgerald.

'CRASHING'
"Crashing ... Original Voices: Giving Teens the Power to Speak Out" is an original drama and dance collaboration of Nanakuli High and Intermediate School, Honolulu Theatre for Youth and Tau Dance Theatre.
The "devised theater" event, in which cast members create the script during rehearsals with elements of improvisation, will focus on issues of concern to the students and their community.
It's directed by Hester Kamin of HTY, with choreography by Tau Dance.

'GODSPELL'
The popular 1970s rock opera tells of the last days of Jesus, based on the Gospel of St. Matthew. Among the musical's songs is the international hit "Day By Day."
