Tomey to coach in Hula Bowl

San Jose State's Dick Tomey and Washington's Tyrone Willingham will coach the West team in the 60th Hula Bowl college all-star football game, school spokesmen said.

Auburn's Tommy Tuberville and East Carolina's Skip Holtz are listed as the East coaches.

Coaches of the year in Divisions I-AA, II and III are expected to be added to the staffs.

The game, which was held on Maui the past eight years, returns to Aloha Stadium on Jan. 21.

PAC-FIVE POSTS UPSET

Christian Flowers scored three goals as fourth-seeded Pac-Five upset top-seeded Punahou, 8-7, last night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I Boys Water Polo Tournament semifinal at the Punahou School pool.

Second-seeded Iolani played third-seeded Kamehameha in the late match. Those results were not available at press time. The Iolani-Kamehameha winner is scheduled to play Pac-Five tonight at 6:30 at Punahou for the tournament title.

Jeter Ishida scored two goals last night for Punahou, the regular-season champion who will play the tournament winner for the league's overall title.

The Drag Race for Breast Cancer Research at Hawai'i Raceway Park Saturday will feature an all-female drag racing lineup with part of the proceeds going to breast cancer research. Gates will open at 4 p.m.
