Electr01lyfe and Indigo celebrate the arrival of 2006 with a Running with the Bulls New Year's Fiesta. This Spanish-themed event features DJ Andrew Clyne from Spain, as well as Ms. Angel, Monkey, Jason Silingo, Gonzales, Syze One and Vince. The X Factor and the Guitar of Antoine with DJ Toki also perform. Tickets are $15 before midnight, $20 after, for 21 and older.

The musicians who were recently nominated for the Hawaiian music Grammy will launch "Live from the Lawn," a new series of free performances at the Hawai'i State Art Museum that is part of the First Friday galleries walks. The performers, in order of appearance: George Kahumoku and Cyril Pahunui ("Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar — Vol. 1," various artists); Ledward Ka'apana ("Kiho'alu — Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar"); Sonny Lim ("Slack Key Guitar: The Artistry of Sonny Lim"); Riatatea Helm ("Sweet & Lovely"); and Kapono Beamer "Slack Key Dreams of the Ponomoe." Bring lawn chairs, beach mats and picnic food; no alcohol, please. Free coffee and pastries will be provided by Starbucks Hawai'i; plate lunches also will be available for purchase.

Kumu Kahua Theatre's stage season continues with a revival of "Ulua: The Musical." Written by Advertiser columnist Lee Cataluna, the musical comedy revolves around life, love and fishing on Maui as an O'ahu boy leaves to see what the Valley Isle has to offer. Harry Wong directs. Tickets are $5-$16.

The Hot Soul Music Jam features the R&B stylings of Keith Sweat, Midnight Star and Zapp. Sweat is best known for sultry hits such as "Make You Sweat" and "Twisted," while Zapp churns out the funky tunes like "More Bounce to the Ounce" and "Dance Floor." Midnight Star's claims to fame include "Freak-A-Zoid" and "Operator." Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40, $45 and $55.

Traditional blues guitarist Keb' Mo' tours four the islands, sharing his style of country-blues and contemporary soul. It's the Phantom of the Opera times three as Craig Schulman, Cris Groenendaal and Kevin Gray come together for "The Three Phantoms in Concert." All three have played the title character in the acclaimed Broadway musical and will perform songs from the production as well as other shows such as "Jekyll & Hyde" and "Guys and Dolls." Sue Anderson accompanies the trio, and dancers from Ballet Hawaii join in for "Masquerade" with Don Conover on organ. Tickets are $25-$60, with discounts for students, seniors, military and Hawai'i Theatre members. Ballet Hawaii receives a $5 donation from each ticket sold.
