Medical problems stretch family thin

This year has been especially difficult for D.D. and her family.
Eight months ago, D.D. was facing a high-risk pregnancy that required frequent visits to the hospital and a number of medical tests. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Then, her husband, J.D., was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that has caused extreme pain and numbness in his right arm. It has been difficult for him to work, and his hours have been cut.
J.D. recently began working a second job to help make ends meet. But the money he makes is barely enough to cover rent and other expenses.
J.D. and his wife are worried they can't afford Christmas gifts for their four children.
The couple's 13-year-old daughter has been helping her mother with chores around the house and also helps take care of her 3-year-old brother and 8-month-old baby sister. There is also an 8-year-old son.
The couple needs beds for their children. They sleep on blankets on the floor.
While their children do not complain about their clothes, the couple would like to be able to give them a few new outfits.
The younger children hope Santa will bring them toys this Christmas.
The family is also requesting sheets, blankets, pillows and pillow cases.
Our anonymous Santa will match the first $25 of each donation to the Christmas Fund.
Christmas Fund donations are used for families who need help through the holidays. Any money remaining after the holidays will be used to help those in need throughout the year.
