Sex-trafficking plea deal includes 25-year sentence
A man has pleaded guilty to sex-trafficking charges in U.S. District Court here.
Civil Rights Division assistant U.S. attorney general Thomas Perez yesterday said defendant Rodney D. King forced vulnerable women and girls into prostitution by "a variety of deplorable means."
Under the terms of the plea agreement, King is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison by U.S. District Judge David Ezra on Sept. 27.
Perez and U.S. Attorney Florence Nakakuni commended the FBI and the Honolulu Police Department for their work in investigating the case and rescuing some of King's victims.
