Kaneohe Marine pleads guilty to conspiracy charge

A Kane'ohe Marine has pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to sell and export night vision scopes belonging to the Marine Corps.
Ryan Mathers is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
Former Marine Ronald William Abram is scheduled to plead guilty today. He is charged with helping Mathers send the devices to Japan.
Another Marine, Charles Carper, is scheduled to plead guilty next month. He is accused of selling one night vision scope to a customer in Hong Kong and one to a customer in Poland.
Federal charges were dropped against four other Marines in the case after they agreed to be prosecuted by the Corps.
A license is required to export the ITT Nightquest PVS-14 Generation 3 Night Vision Monoculars.
