HONOLULU — A subcommittee of the state Ethics Commission has issued a report on agency Executive Director Dan Mollway, saying he has not been "appropriately engaged" as the office's top administrator.

The panel issued a four-page public report Wednesday. A more detailed version remains confidential because it concerns a personnel issue.

The commission has set a June 9 hearing to accept public testimony on the report and to decide whether Mollway should be retained.

Commission Chairwoman Maria Sullivan says Mollway, who also is the agency's general counsel, remains on leave.

There was no immediate comment from Mollway's lawyer, Paul Saito.
