Healthful living habits of Seventh-day Adventists — touted as "longevity all-stars" — will be on display at tomorrow's Health and Wellness Fair at the Honolulu Japanese Seventh-day Adventist Church in Manoa.
Presentations, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., include vegetarian cooking, food sampling, blood pressure checks and dental health. More information: 988-4343, http://www.honolulujsdachurch.org. The church is at 2655 Manoa Road.
In a National Geographic story about Adventist longevity and a subsequent book, "The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest," explorer and writer Dan Buettner found ties between Seventh-day Adventists' emphasis on diet and health practices, including Sabbath-keeping, and longevity.
