18-year-old formally charged in fatal beating of cab driver
An 18-year-old man who admitted to police that he helped beat a taxi driver to death May 1 has been indicted on murder and other charges.
Michael Robles, of a Mānoa address, told police that he and a 17-year-old juvenile co-defendant fatally attacked Charlys Ty Tang after Tang drove them from Waikīkī to Waipahu, Deputy Prosecutor Victoria Kapp said yesterday.
Robles said the juvenile "punched the cab driver 15 times and kicked him three to four times," Kapp said.
Robles "admitted that he kicked the cab driver more than one time," Kapp said.
