Arson suspected in fire that guts house on Big Island

Big Island firefighters report that arson is suspected in a fire that damaged a Pahoa house Saturday night.
The call came in at about 8:30 p.m. Firefighters arrived and found the three-bedroom house on South Puni Mauka Loop engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished and the investigation found that the fire appeared to be suspicious. Damage was $110,000. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries. Big Island police are investigating the fire.
