A 28-year-old man who escaped from the Hawaii State Hospital last night has been arrested.

Alexander Aehegma was arrested at about 6:30 this evening after police said he called 911 to turn himself in. Police arrested Aehegma in Kahuku without incident.
Aehegma was the subject of a search after he was allowed to leave a group meeting at about 8:10 last night to go to the restroom and failed to return. CrimeStoppers and Honolulu police issued a bulletin today asking for the public’s help in finding Aehegma.
