Flood advisories lifted, but more rain in Hawaii forecast

Flood advisories issued overnight and early this morning for Maui and the Big Island have been lifted, but the National Weather Service says numerous scattered showers are in the state forecast for the rest of today.
The weather service reported around 2:15 p.m. today of locally heavy showers over Central Oahu and the Koolau Mountains will remain nearly stationary. The showers are expected to continue through the afternoon before dissipating tonight.
Meanwhile, a high-surf advisory is in effect from midnight tonight to 5 p.m. Wednesday for the north- and west-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, Niihau and Kauai and north-facing shores of Maui and the Big Island. Surf on Molokai and Maui is expected to rise rapidly overnight and reach 20 feet to 24 feet on Tuesday.
The weather service said surf along the west-facing shores of Oahu and Molokai and north-facing shores of the Big Island will rise to 10 feet to 15 feet on Tuesday.
Flood advisories were posted overnight and early this morning for Maui and the Big Island after measuring devices recorded persistent moderate to heavy rain.
