Hawaii Fire Department crew rescues person trapped in SUV at bottom of cliff

Hawai'i Fire Department crews responding to a 6:03 p.m. alarm found an SUV overturned at the bottom of a 25-foot cliff off of Kahakai Blvd. in Pahoa with one person trapped in the vehicle.
Bystanders assisted HFD personnel in extricating the person from the vehicle, which had apparently landed at least partially in the ocean in moderate surf conditions.
The occupant of the SUV suffered only minor lacerations.
No other details are yet available.
