The good news is the University of Hawaiçi men's basketball team won't have to play any more road games.

The bad news is the Rainbow Warriors will not play in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Reno, Nev., next week. Their season ended with a 78-69 loss at Idaho today at the Cowan Spectrum in Moscow, Idaho.

The loss ended Hawaiçi's season at 10-20 overall. The 'Bows finished in last place in the WAC at 3-13. They also went 0-9 on the road this season.

It is the fewest wins by a Hawaiçi team since the 1998-99 season, when it finished 6-20. That was also the last time a Hawaiçi team endured a 20-loss season.

Steffan Johnson drained eight 3-pointers and finished with 28 points to lead the Vandals. It was the most 3s ever made by an opposing player against Hawaiçi.

Roderick Flemings led Hawaiçi with 29 points in his final appearance as a 'Bow.

Hawaiçi was actually eliminated from qualifying for the WAC Tournament before its game even reached halftime.

Boise State defeated San Jose State, 85-56, earlier in the day in Boise, Idaho, to officially knock the 'Bows out of contention for a WAC Tournament spot. By beating the Spartans, the Broncos secured the eighth — and final — spot in the WAC Tournament.

The 'Bows led by as many as five points in the first half, but the Vandals went on a 13-5 run just before halftime to take a 35-32 lead at intermission.

Idaho increased the lead to as many as six early in the first half, but the ¹Bows rallied to take a momentary 49-47 lead.

The Vandals took control for good with a 16-5 run that put Idaho in front 70-59 with less than four minutes remaining. Hawaiçi never got closer than nine after that.

Both teams played without a starter. Hawaiçi senior forward Adhar Mayen did not play because of an illness. Idaho senior guard Kashif Watson was suspended for "conduct detrimental to the program."

Idaho, which improved to 15-15 overall and 6-10 in the WAC, will be the No. 7 seed at the WAC Tournament.
