Big Island man injured in fall is flown to Honolulu
A Big Island man was flown to a Honolulu hospital Saturday after he was injured in a fall.
He was brought to Oahu by a U.S. Coast Guard air crew aboard a C-130 long-range search and rescue aircraft from Air Station Barbers Point, the Coast Guard said in a news release.
The 25-year-old man was initially taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital, which contacted the Coast Guard to arrange the transfer.
The C-130 Hercules aircraft returned to at Air Station Barbers Point at about 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, the patient was taken to The Queen's Medical Center.
