A man was injured tonight when the car he was working beneath apparently fell on him.

A Honolulu Fire Department rescue crew responded to the call at Wilcox Lane in Kalihi but bystanders had already freed the man by the time they arrived.

The man was given medical assistance by HFD personnel and was transported to an area hospital by Emergency Medical Services.
