The legacy left behind by the incredible efforts and priceless contributions made by members of the 100th/442nd Regimental Combat Team should not be forgotten. Their story should be told and retold so that we know and our children will know... why we can enjoy the freedom and prosperity we have today. We must forever hold them in honor and gratitude. We must honor them and show our gratitude by carrying on the their torch of courage and heroism in the never-ending battle against cowardice, indifference, prejudice and injustice. Owen Nakao.

I have read your article on the Heroism and bravery that was shown. I am A Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, I am currently stationed in California. I like these Heroes are from Hawaii Born and raised and also of Japanese Ancestry, it must have been difficult for these Soldiers to deal with the stress and fatigue of War and also the racial conflict with the other soldiers In that time. Being in the military you don't expect recognition or a Medal in this case, for what you do, you just know it must be done and hopefully life is better for the next Generation. I salute them and there fallen comrades they will be in my Prayers. Serving your country is a hard and demanding job you don't have to do it for your country or for your State you do it for the more important things like Freedom and Honor, you do it to protect your Loved ones, your Ohana (Family).
