Lingle congratulates Hawaii-born dancing champion

HONOLULU — Gov. Linda Lingle is congratulating Hawaii-born Nicole Scherzinger, who won a dancing competition on the television series "Dancing with the Stars."
Scherzinger and professional dancer Derek Hough were crowned champions Wednesday.
Lingle says the 31-year-old Scherzinger represented Hawaii with pride and showcased outstanding talent that can be found on each of the state's island.
The governor says Scherzinger exhibited a work ethic and genuine good nature throughout the intense competition.
Scherzinger is the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls.
She was born in Hawaii but grew up in a Louisville, Ky. Her mother was a professional hula dancer.
