UH's Moniz-Kaho‘ohanohano selected for national award

University of Hawai'i associate athletics director and senior woman administrator Marilyn Moniz-Kaho'ohanohano was announced today as the recipient of the Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year Award.

The award is annually given to the member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) who exemplifies the personal qualities and professional accomplishments of Dr. Nell Jackson, such as courage, conviction and perseverance and who is an advocate for gender equity and diversity, according to the announcement.

Moniz-Kaho'ohanohano is among nine people to be honored at the Administrator of the Year, Honor and Distinction Awards Banquet at the 2010 NACWAA National Convention Oct. 12 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Moniz-Kahoohanohano was a volleyball player at UH in the late 1970s and has been a member of UH Athletics administration for the past 20 years.
