Man, 34, reports being robbed in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Waikiki early this morning in connection with a robbery reported by a 34-year-old man.

The man who reported being robbed said two strangers approached him about 12:25 a.m. and demanded money.

He said he tried to run away, but tripped and fell to the ground.

The two strangers began to punch and kick him, and one of them hit him in the head with a glass bottle and removed money from his pocket, the man told police.

Police said both attackers ran from the area but patrol officers found one of the suspects who was arrested near the intersection of Liliuokalani and Koa avenues on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
