Maui Police today captured Harry Kahaleauki, who escaped Maui Community Correctional Center custody while attending his brother's funeral on Saturday, during a traffic stop in Kihei.

Kahaleauki, who was arrested last month for numerous offenses including allegedly stealing a van and using it to steal an automated teller machine, was a passenger in a car that was stopped at the intersection of North Kihei Road and Pi'ilani Highway around 3:05 p.m. today.

Two adult males in the car were also arrested.
