They misspelled Julia Louis-Dreyfus' name on her Hollywood Walk of Fame star, but the Emmy-winning star of "Seinfeld" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine" seemed amused by the typo.

The mistake? The star read "Luis" instead of "Louis," and there was no hyphen between Louis and Dreyfus.

"The misspelling was so perfectly apt, a great metaphor for show business," Louis-Dreyfus said after yesterday's ceremony. "Right when you think you've made it, you get knocked down.

"It's an ideal metaphor for how this business works," she said.

TOP LATE-NIGHT TALKER TO HOST EMMYS

How do you reward a "Late Night" host who defeated his programming competition in April? If you're NBC, you make him the host of an award show.

The peacock network announced yesterday that Jimmy Fallon would host the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards this summer.

It is the first Emmy-hosting gig for the "Saturday Night Live" alum, who is a seasoned vet of the MTV awards circuit.

The Emmy nominations will be announced July 8. The show will be broadcast live Aug. 29.

STING JOINS OUTCRY AGAINST AMAZON DAM

Sting is speaking out against Brazil's renewed plan for the huge Belo Monte dam in the Amazon that he helped halt two decades ago, saying the project would destroy a river and the lives of thousands who depend on it.

The British music star is among a growing list of celebrities, including film director James Cameron and actress Sigourney Weaver, who have joined activists in lobbying against Brazil's plan to build the world's third-largest dam on the Xingu River.

MICHAELS BEATS ODDS ON HEMORRHAGE

Former Poison singer and "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant Bret Michaels is "a very lucky person" to have survived a brain hemorrhage and recover to the point where he has been discharged in stable condition from a Phoenix medical center, according to the doctor leading the team treating the star.

Michaels, 47, can walk on his own and no longer has slurred speech, Dr. Joseph Zabramski, chief of cerebrovascular surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, said yesterday.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., resident is expected to make a full recovery.

HAIM DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES, CORONER SAYS

Actor Corey Haim died from pneumonia complicated by an enlarged heart and narrowed blood vessels, while drugs found in his system played no role in his death, the Los Angeles County coroner said yesterday.

Haim, 38, died of natural causes from "community-acquired pneumonia" that damaged his lungs, according to an autopsy report.
