Papakolea man stabbed in his sleep by intruder, suspect detained by witnesses

A 54-year-old Papakolea man is in serious condition after he was stabbed by an intruder as he slept last night.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man, identified as the victim's former neighbor.
The victim's family reported that the man entered the home around 1:45 a.m. and assaulted the victim as he slept. He was detained by witnesses at the scene.
The victim suffered multiple puncture wounds to the head and body, police said.
