'Running for Women' courses at starting line

Advertiser Staff

Kailua Running Co. is hosting free introductory meetings next week to share information about upcoming running and conditioning courses learning more about the courses.

Meetings, set for 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. April 6, will be followed by a run for registered participants.

Courses include: "Running for Women," for intermediate walkers and runners; "Advanced Running for Women," for those with more running experience; and a post-run conditioning class led by a personal trainer.

"Running for Women is a course that allows women to train at their own pace while also developing a stronger running skills set. Women may have the goal of running longer distances, running at a faster pace, running at a more efficient level, or competing in a 5K, 10K or marathon for the first time.

Runners enrolled in the 10-week courses meet twice weekly for training and are asked to complete an "honor run" on their own time between sessions. Morning and evening sessions are offered. Course fees range from $50 for a "drop-in card" to $225 for a package including the advanced course and conditioning class.

Runners may register at the introductory meeting, at the KRC store or through its website, www.kailuarunningco.com. For more information, contact the store at 262-3278.
