NFL: Holmes says he never hurt woman in club

Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. — Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes has denied hurting a woman who claims he threw a glass at her in an Orlando nightclub.

In a report released Tuesday by the Orlando Police Department, Holmes told an officer that the woman, Anshonae Mills, grabbed his wrist, got in his face and called him the racial name after he asked for his seat back in the VIP section of Club Rain.

Mills has a different story. She says that Holmes got in her face and then hit her with the glass after she refused to give up her seat. She filed a civil lawsuit against Holmes last week.

Mills' attorneys said at a news conference that they hadn't seen the police report and couldn't comment on it.
