University of Hawai'i athletic director Jim Donovan and most of his advisory committee are scheduled to return to Honolulu today after wrapping up interviews in Los Angeles, but it remains to be seen if any more candidates will be added to the search for a new men's basketball head coach.

Seven candidates have been interviewed since Saturday, and while no more candidates are believed to be currently scheduled, Donovan yesterday did not rule out additional sessions.

"It is an on-going process, we're moving as expeditiously as possible and that's all I'll say about that," Donovan said.

Four candidates were interviewed by Donovan and his advisory committee near Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday and yesterday.

The four were Steve Barnes, Ray Giacoletti, Lew Hill and Steve McClain.

Barnes, Giacoletti and McClain are former head coaches, although all are currently serving as associate or assistant coaches.

• Barnes is the associate head coach at Southern Mississippi and a former head coach at San Jose State.

He had a 39-51 record at San Jose State, including 2-5 against Hawai'i. He coached the Spartans to an upset of Hawai'i's NCAA Tournament team in 2002.

Southern Mississippi will play at Louisiana Tech today in the Collegeinsider.com Tournament.

• Giacoletti is an assistant at Gonzaga and former head coach at Utah, Eastern Washington and North Dakota State.

Gonzaga will play Florida State in an NCAA Tournament game tomorrow.

• Hill is in his sixth season as an assistant coach at UNLV.

He was previously an associate and assistant coach at Texas A&M (1998-2004), and an assistant coach at East Carolina (1994-98) and Southeast Missouri State (1992-94).

UNLV will face Northern Iowa in an NCAA Tournament game today.

• McClain is the associate head coach at Colorado, which finished with a 15-16 record this season.

He was the head coach at Wyoming from 1998-2007, compiling a record of 157-115. Before that, he was an assistant coach at TCU under Billy Tubbs.

Three other candidates were interviewed in Honolulu earlier: Saint Mary's associate head coach Kyle Smith, Chaminade head coach Matt Mahar, and former USC assistant coach Gib Arnold.
