Navy commands in Hawaii to conduct anti-terror exercise next week

Advertiser Staff

Navy commands in Hawaii will participate in a major security exercise next week at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and the Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kauai.

The week-long exercise, scheduled Monday through Friday, is the largest anti-terrorism exercise conducted by the Navy nationwide. It has been dubbed Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2010.
This is the first year Navy commands in Hawaii will be taking part.
The Navy says there may be times when the exercises result in increased traffic around bases, or delays in base access.
The Navy’s Giant Voice public address system also will be used and may be audible to residents living near bases.
