High-surf advisory remains in effect

A high-surf advisory remains in effect today for north- and west-facing shores on Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, and north-facing shores on Maui and the Big Island.

The National Weather Service says Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai will see wave heights of 14 to 18 feet on north-facing shores and 8 to 12 feet on west-facing shores. North-facing shores on Maui and the Big Island will see waves of 10 to 15 feet.
The advisory remains in effect until 6 tonight.
A partly sunny day is in the forecast, with showers likely in the morning and scattered showers in the afternoon.
Highs will be 76 to 81 degrees. Trades will be around 15 mph with higher gusts.
