KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Xavier Henry scored 11 points in a stunning 21-2 run that broke a tight game wide open and carried No. 1 Kansas past No. 23 Texas A&M 79-66 in a rough-and-tumble Big 12 men's semifinal last night.

Texas A&M (23-9) led by as many as nine points early in the second half while the regular-season Big 12 champion Jayhawks (31-2) fouled and fumbled and committed turnover after turnover.

But the Aggies, who outplayed Kansas throughout the first half, ran into a sudden field goal drought that lasted more than 8 minutes and Kansas suddenly could hardly miss.

Sherron Collins had six of his 26 points in the big run that made Kansas 16-1 all-time against the Aggies and sent them into the finals against No. 9 Kansas State.

NO. 9 KANSAS STATE 82, NO. 21 BAYLOR 75

Dominique Sutton had 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Wildcats (26-6) held off the Bears (25-7) to reach their first Big 12 championship game.

ATLANTIC COAST

NO. 4 DUKE 57, VIRGINIA 46

Kyle Singler had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and the top-seeded Blue Devils (27-5) beat the Cavaliers (15-16) to reach the Atlantic Coast Conference semifinals at Greensboro, N.C.

GEORGIA TECH 69, NO. 19 MARYLAND 64

Iman Shumpert scored 14 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (21-11) past the Terrapins (23-8) and into the semifinals.

MIAMI 70, VIRGINIA TECH 65

Durand Scott scored 11 of his 17 points in the final 6 minutes and the last-place Hurricanes (20-12) continued a stunning run with a victory over the Hokies (23-8).

N.C. STATE 58, FLORIDA STATE 52

Freshman Scott Wood scored 18 points on six 3-pointers to help the 11th-seeded Wolfpack (19-14) upset the third-seeded Seminoles (22-9).

BIG EAST

NO. 22 GEORGETOWN 80, MARQUETTE 57

Greg Monroe had 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Hoyas (23-9) beat the Golden Eagles (22-11) to reach Big East title game in New York.

WEST VIRGINIA 53, NOTRE DAME 51

Da'Sean Butler scored 24 points to lead the Mountaineers (26-6) over the Irish (23-11) for their fifth straight victory.

BIG TEN

NO. 5 OHIO STATE 69, MICHIGAN 68

Evan Turner hit a 37-footer at the buzzer to lift the top-seeded Buckeyes (25-7) over the Wolverines (17-15) in the Big Ten quarterfinals at Indianapolis.

NO. 6 PURDUE 69, NORTHWESTERN 61

E'Twaun Moore scored 28 points and JaJuan Johnson had 22 points and eight rebounds as the Boilermakers (27-4) held off the Wildcats (20-13).

ILLINOIS 58, NO. 13 WISCONSIN 54

Mike Tisdale scored 21 points and Demetri McCamey had 13 as the Fighting Illini (19-13) hung on to upset the Badgers (23-8).

MINNESOTA 72, NO. 11 MICHIGAN STATE 67

Devoe Joseph made two of his three 3-pointers during a 10-0 overtime run, leading the Gophers (20-12) over the Spartans (24-8).

CONFERENCE USA

NO. 25 UTEP 75, TULSA 61

Randy Culpepper scored 21 points and the Miners (26-5) took a 15-4 lead which didn't dip below six in beating the Golden Hurricanes (23-11).

HOUSTON 74, SOUTHERN MISS 66

National scoring leader Aubrey Coleman had 27 points as the Cougars (18-15) held off the Golden Eagles (20-13) to advance to the championship game.

SAN DIEGO STATE 72, NO. 8 NEW MEXICO 69

Dairese Gary missed a runner in the final second as the Aztecs (24-8) upset the Lobos (24-9) in the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas.

UNLV 70, NO. 14 BYU 66

Tre'Von Willis scored 18 points, including two free throws for a 67-64 lead with 36 seconds left as Runnin' Rebels (25-7) upset the Cougars (29-5).

PACIFIC-10

CALIFORNIA 85, UCLA 72

Jerome Randle scored 24 points, Theo Robertson had 20, and the top-seeded Golden Bears (23-9) beat the Bruins (14-13) to reach the Pac-10 final in Los Angeles.

WASHINGTON 79, STANFORD 64

Quincy Pondexter scored 19 points and the Huskies (23-9) pulled away from a 28-19 halftime lead in cruising past the Cardinal (14-18).

WESTERN ATHLETIC

UTAH STATE 85, LOUISIANA TECH 55

Jared Quayle scored 16 points as the Aggies (27-6) routed the Bulldogs (23-10) to gain the finals of the Western Athletic Conference tourney at Reno, Nev.

NEW MEXICO STATE 80, NEVADA 79

Jahmar Young hit a jumper with five seconds left, lifting the Aggies (20-12) over the Wolf Pack (21-11) when Armon Johnson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
