Hawaii's east shores under high-surf advisory

Advertiser Staff

The east-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island are under a high-surf advisory until 6 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu said strong trade winds will bring rough surf of 5 feet to 8 feet through the afternoon.
A high-surf advisory could bring rip currents and beach erosion.
