The newest sport in school P.E. programs? Land paddling, cousin to stand-up paddling. Land paddling takes the motions of stand-up to the pavement. All that's required is a head-high stick and a skateboard for a student's full-body workout.

Mililani High School is one of four public schools in Hawai'i that have added land paddling. "It's an awesome sport because it definitely builds self-esteem and self-confidence," said Mililani P.E. teacher Jason Agsalda. "Just to get kids motivated and get kids to be active, I'm all for it."
