Waianae Small Boat Harbor dredging project begins Wednesday

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources will begin maintenance dredging at Waianae Small Boat Harbor on Wednesday.

The project is aimed at removing about 2,000 cubic yards of sediment from the harbor’s entrance channel and along the inside of the breakwater. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of February.
Dredging will take place Monday through Friday, except on federal holidays, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
During dredging, boat ramps and about half of the entrance tunnel will remain open.
The $1.7 million project is being paid for with economic stimulus grants.
