"The Divine Hero," the first South Korean soap opera to film here, has a local on the production team, David Lim of Beauty Touch. Reason: Lim earlier was involved in an event here with K-drama star Song Il Kook, and Song toplines the Munhwa Broadcasting Co.'s Batman-inspired tale of an orphaned Korean businessman with Island ties who seeks to avenge the murders of his parents. ...

And Adam Sandler's next film, "Pretend Wife," is exploring some film work here. Previously dubbed "Holiday in Hawaii," Jennifer Aniston likely will co-star as the pretend wife. Hmmmm, where was Sandler during the recent Sony Open? He's usually high on the radar at the golf classic. ...

BEHIND THE SCENES: Diamond Head Theatre's "Joy Luck Club," premiering this Friday, is a cinch for a sellout. "Fastest-selling play I have seen in my tenure," said executive director Deena Dray, fueled by partnering with the Narcissus Festival, which signed up for a private performance Feb. 10. An 8 p.m. Feb. 3 show has just been added.

Director Reiko Ho, who directed Kumu Kahua's "Joy" in 1999, skipped a 2000 remount because she was pregnant. Now she's leading the DHT version, tapping three of her '99 Kumu actors — Elissa Dulce (An-Mei), Blossom Lam Hoffman (YingYing) and Sherwood "Woody" Chock (Canning Woo) — in the current cast. ...
