Man critical after crash near Kahe power plant

Heavy trucks that collided on Farrington Highway near the Kahe power plant about noon Wednesday closed all town-bound lanes of the roadway for a time. Later, a separate crash in the westbound lanes left a man in critical condition.

A man was in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Farrington Highway near the Kahe power plant.

The incident occurred at about 3:20 p.m., police said. A man, who appears to be in his mid-50s, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, said Bryan Cheplic, city Emergency Services Department spokesman
Police are investigating whether the man suffered a medical condition prior to the crash. One west-bound lane of Farrington Highway was closed for about three hours while police investigated the crash.
