Kapaa man charged with assaulting officer

Associated Press

A Kauaçi man wanted on numerous counts of burglary, theft and forgery faces even more charges following his arrest in Hanamäçulu.

Police Chief Darryl Perry said Tyson Yadao of Kapaça was charged with resisting arrest and three counts of first-degree assault on a police officer Wednesday night.
Perry says the 21-year-old Yadao kicked three officers during a struggle that erupted when they attempted to arrest him.
According to Perry, Yadao was subdued after the officers shot him with a Taser and pepper spray.
Yadao was treated at Wilcox Memorial Hospital before being taken to the police cellblock for booking. His bail has been set at $43,600.
