Sony gave golf fans a glimpse of its new 3-D television technology during a demonstration yesterday at the Sony Open.
Footage of golfers at the tournament was filmed Tuesday using special 3-D cameras, and shown yesterday in the Sony tent at the Waialae Country Club.
Sony, which has suffered three consecutive quarterly losses, is hoping 3-D television technology will vault it back into a leadership position in consumer electronics.
Sony has persuaded both the PGA Tour and ESPN to begin taping and broadcasting events in 3-D.
