Many countries report missing and dead in Haiti

A glance on countries reporting dead and missing in Haiti:

  • United States: One dead and three missing. The embassy contacted nearly 1,000 Americans, but an estimated 45,000 are in the country.
  • Canada: Three dead and five missing.
  • Costa Rica: Five missing.
  • France: Two confirmed deaths and several missing.
  • Denmark: Two reported missing.
  • Italy: About 100 reported missing.
  • Mexico: 40 of the 80 Mexicans living in Haiti located.
