Soldier arrested after convenience store robbery
A 22-year-old Schofield Barracks soldier was arrested Wednesday in connection with an early-morning robbery at a convenience store in Kähala.
A store employee told police the man entered the store at 12:43 a.m., pulled out a knife, demanded cash and left.
At about 9 a.m., a patrol officer spotted a man in the area where the robbery took place, wearing clothing similar to that worn by the robber, police said.
The store employee later identified the man and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
