Ulu Ko Park on Kauai closing Monday for improvements

Advertiser Staff

Ulu Ko Park in Lihu'e will be closed on Monday while improvements are being made, Kauai County announced today.

The park is expected to reopen in June upon completion of the project.

Among the changes planned for Ulu Ko Park are the installation of fencing around the perimeter and an underground irrigation system, and the establishment of new turf.

The park improvements are being made by Grove Farm, Inc. as a condition of a zoning ordinance, which was signed into law in February 2008.

For more information, contact park planner Dave Caylor at 808-241-4454 or Mel Nishihara, administrator of the Department of Parks and Recreation Planning and Development Division, at 808-241-4459.
