Hawaiçi’s competitors include: Tiffany Cheung (senior high — piano), John Cole (junior high — strings); Marina Mitsuta (young artist — piano); Teresa Ou (senior high — strings); Tyler Ramos (Junior High Piano); T.J. Keanu Tario (senior high —composition); and Che Hua Yu (young artist — strings). Chandra Susilo, formerly of Hawaiçi, will be competing for Arizona.
The first place winners from seven regions will compete later this year at the MTNA national conference in Albuquerque.
The public is invited to the regional event at the University of Hawaiçi at Mänoa. Admission is free. The performance schedule is posted online at www.hmta.org.
