Red Cross schedules classes for potential volunteers

The Kaua'i Red Cross is emphasizing the need for more pre-trained volunteers and has scheduled disaster services training for interested people, the Garden Island newspaper reported.

Three course sessions will be held Jan. 15-17 at the Church of the Pacific in Princeville:

• Fulfilling Our Mission, an introduction to the American Red Cross, Jan. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m.

• Mass Care/Shelter Operations and Shelter Simulation, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Disaster Action Team Orientation, Jan. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All classes are offered free of charge to any individual willing to help those in need.
