Suspected car thief, passenger arrested in Kaneohe

Advertiser Staff

Two men were arrested early this morning in Kaneohe after police reported finding them in a stolen car.

An all-points bulletin was issued about 2 a.m. in the Windward police district for a vehicle that fled from a traffic stop, police said.
A patrol officer spotted a vehicle that matched the description given in the bulletin and followed it while checking on the license plate number.
Police said the officer found the vehicle had been reported stolen from a 30-year-old man.
The officer managed to pull the vehicle over and arrested the 26-year-old man behind the wheel on suspicion of unlawful control of a propelled vehicle.
A 37-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of second-degree unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
