Kapunahala Elementary School and Sen. Jill Tokuda will hold a free community health fair Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. on the school campus in Käne'ohe. More than 30 booths and organizations will provide information, exhibits and entertainment on the theme "Hear your heart. Heart your health." Call 233-5650 for more information.

HAWAII ARTS ALLIANCE GIVES $5,000 TO PERFORMING ARTS LEARNING CENTER

Nänäkuli High and Intermediate School recently received $5,000 from the Hawai'i Arts Alliance to support its Performing Arts Learning Center. It's structured as a challenge grant; the Alliance has awarded the money as a first installment, but the performing arts center must raise matching donations from the community to receive a second installment. HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGE STUDENTS, EDUCATORS INVITED TO YOUTH SUMMIT ON RAIL TRANSIT

The city will hold a SMART Youth Summit at Leeward Community College from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday to discuss the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.

High school and college students across O'ahu are encouraged to attend the free event. Teachers, instructors, professors and other educators are also invited to participate. Lunch will be provided to all participants.

LA PIETRA STUDENTS RAISING MONEY FOR HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF EFFORTS

La Pietra school's 47-member Red Cross Club will sell first-aid teddy bears at the school through Feb. 25 to raise funds to assist the American Red Cross relief effort in Haiti. Students, parents, faculty and staff collected $610 last week for the Haitian quake relief effort. Other fundraising efforts include an upcoming Haiti Relief Bake Sale by La Pietra sixth-graders.
