Wahiawa water main break repaired

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply has finished repairs on a water main that broke early this morning, leaving about nine businesses without water on Superbowl Sunday.

The repairs were completed at 6 p.m. today after the line broke at 5:07 a.m. on Kamehameha Highway and Avocado Street, BWS water officials said. The break affected the businesses and traffic. Traffic was funneled into one lane and the center turn lane for much of the day, officials said.
"We had no water half day today," said Shengli Chang, L&L Drive-Inn owner. "We had to close today, which usually a little bit busier because of Superbowl Sunday."
