Rainbows picked to finish third by WAC baseball coaches

The University of Hawai‘i baseball team is picked to finish third and placed three players on the preseason all-Western Athletic Conference team in a poll of the league's coaches released today.

Fresno State was picked first and received five of the seven first-place votes. New Mexico State was second with one first place vote. San Jose State, which was picked to finish fifth, received the other first-place vote.

Hawai‘i outfielder Sean Montplaisir, shortstop Greg Garcia and pitcher Nate Klein were named to the preseason All-WAC team.
Fresno State's Danny Muno was picked preseason Player of the Year, while Derek Benny of FSU was named preseason Pitcher of the Year.
The Rainbows play the alumni Feb. 13 before opening the season against Oregon State Feb. 19 at Les Murakami Stadium.
