Rainbow Warriors to host Cal Poly in basketball

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai‘i men's basketball team will be matched with Cal Poly of San Luis Obispo, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Stan Sheriff Center as a sideline to ESPN's eighth BracketBusters concept, it was announced today.

Four Western Athletic Conference teams — Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, Nevada and Utah State — will take part in the televised BracketBusters package Feb. 19-20. Their matchups will be announced today on ESPN.
UH, Fresno State, San Jose State, Idaho and Boise State have been assigned non-conference opponents but will not have their games shown by ESPN.
Cal Poly of the Big West Conference is 8-12.
Because Cal Poly will play at UH this year, the Rainbow Warriors will be obligated to play a future game at San Luis Obispo, Calif.
