Radford claims OIA White crown

Damon Puskarich fired a four-hitter, and Troy Evans and Joseph Mafnas had two hits apiece to help Radford rally past Waipahu, 3-2, for the O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Conference championship.

The victory at Patsy Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park left the Rams with a perfect 12-0 mark in league play and earned them the OIA's top seed and first-round bye in the Division II state tournament.

Waipahu (10-3) also has qualified for the DII state tournament.

The Marauders took a 2-0 lead in the first inning after an error andSam Chee's RBI groundout. Radford tied it in the fourth on J.B. Fontenot's run-scoring single and his delayed steal of home.

The Rans took a 3-2 lead in the sixth after Rylee Moore walked with two outs, advanced to second on Mafnas' single and Evans' RBI single to center.

Drake Yoshioka had two hits for Waipahu.

Chevas Takasaki batted 2 for 3 and Pono Ayers spaced five hits as the Bulldogs held off the visiting Red Raiders for third place in the OIA White Tournament.

Dallas Reis and Shawn Kitahara each doubled for Kaimukī.

Kaiana Eldredge had three hits, and Kainoa Crowell, Rick Nomura and Ryan Yamane had two hits apiece for Punahou, which totaled with 14 hits.
