Former Missing Persons frontwoman and Playboy Bunny Dale Bozzio won't be joining Tommy Tutone for the May 7 show at Pipeline Café because of an illness, Pipeline owner Greg Azus said.

Bozzio, known for her New Wave music ("Words") and over-the-top glam style, is having surgery for reasons undisclosed.

"We would have loved to have her, but Tommy Tutone ("867-5309 (Jenny)") is still coming and we'll make it more of an '80s theme party,"Azus said. "It happens."

Without fanfare, reality TV stars Duane "Dog" Chapman and his wife Beth of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" posted bail for the two University of Hawai'i students who were arrested last week in Gov. Linda Lingle's office during their sit-in protest over furlough Fridays. "We support their efforts completely," Beth Chapman said. Bond was $100 each.

The car or truck of one lucky fan attending tomorrow night's Ferrari 5000 party at Pipeline Café will be getting a $20,000 upgrade. "Pimp My Ride" host Xzibit, who made his name as a platinum-album selling rapper, will be performing and awarding the upgrade. The concert is part of a promotional tour for Samoan Irok's latest album with DJFingaz. Diego Brown is also on the card. More information is at ferrari5000.com.

A fundraiser for Janell Araki is taking place Sunday at Rumours Night Club. The 39-year-old mother is battling calciphylaxis, a rare, debilitating disease that has already forced the amputation of a finger and most of her toes. There is no cure for it.

A fundraiser last year helped defray medical costs, but the family still has $25,000 in unpaid medical bills and her bandages cost $500 a month. Compounding the family's struggles is that her husband, Darren Araki, recently suffered a stroke and has diabetes.

Tickets are $20. Among the performers are Holunape, Pali, the Gregg Hammer Band, A Touch of Gold and Elements. Call 233-9634 for more information, or mail donations to:
