Big City, Galaxy MMA boost SOS

Advertiser Staff

Patrons at Big City Diner's Ward location who bring in a flyer printed from the Galaxy MMA website www.galaxymma.com/community.html can have 10 percent of their bill today donated to the Hawai'i High School Athletic Association's "SOS" (Save Our Sports) campaign to help fund public school athletics.

The promotion is valid for dine-in customers from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. today only.

Galaxy MMA is a new Hawai'i mixed martial arts organization that will stage its first event May 1 at Blaisdell Arena, featuring Scott Junk of Kailua.

The SOS Fund has raised more than $1.4 million since last July to help Hawai'i's 45 public high schools offset budget cuts that left them operating with less than 64 percent of their state allocations compared to 2008-2009.

The contributions include $100 from Lawrence and Betty Ing this week.

To contribute, make a check payable to "HHSAA SOS Account" and send it to HHSAA, P.O. Box 62029, Honolulu, HI 96839, or visit www.sportshigh.com
