The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation today awarded a $1 million grant to St. Francis School for construction of a two-story sports and music facility.

The structure will be built next to the school's Troubadome gym and its ground floor will provide showers, lockers and weight facilities.

The second floor will offer the school band a place to practice.

Construction is expected to begin in the summer and the building probably will be ready for occupancy by the second semester of the 2010-2011 school year.
